Summary: Thomas sees about 50 other boys in the distance. And another boy named Newt comes by to slap Alby for some reason. Alby says that this place is called the Glade, and they’re called Gladers. Then another boy comes along, his name is Chuck, and then Thomas hears screams from a wooden building, Chuck says they got Ben. Thomas is not sure who they are, not even Chuck knows. Then Chuck and Thomas go to this building for Ben. When they get there they meet yet another boy and he says that he remembers Thomas from somewhere before.
Character Analysis: Since it’s still pretty early on the book, Thomas, seems confused still. I mean I would be too, waking up in a place you do not know, meeting new people and new things. But this Alby kid seems like he’s been here for awhile now and in the book, described as a leader.
