Trouble Blog #5

Summary: Henry Smith decides to climb Mt. Katahdin, 3 other people tag along with Henry. First his best friend, Sanborn Brigham. The second person is Chay, he was the person that accidentally killed Franklin, Henry's brother. At first Henry didn't want Chay to tag along but after getting to know him and his background Henry kind of understood him. The third person to climb the mountain with Henry is Henry's sister, Louisa. Meanwhile climbing the mountain, it was almost a competition for all the three. There was one part where they were crossing a small river  or stream and Chay was ahead while Henry was behind, seeing who can be there first. But they are still climbing the mountain for Franklin.

Reflection: So far in the book I like the story, a somewhat happy family and then out of nowhere trouble comes and Franklin dies. And Franklin always wanted to climb a mountain with his younger brother, Henry. And now Henry wants to climb it alone, well with three other people for Franklin. But there are challenges to overcome. He met the person that killed his own brother, having to deal with that. Then climbing this huge mountain. I think they will, they seem determined and everything has kind of been going smoothly.

Trouble Blog #4

Summary: The book starts off with "if you bold a your house far enough from trouble, then Trouble will never find you." The Smiths have lived where their family has always lived. Henry Smith is the main character in this story, he is a young prep school student. He has a brother named Franklin, and Franklin would always tell Henry they would climb a mouton together, Mount. Katahdin. But one day while Franklin was jogging he got hit by a car, he was sent to the hospital. Franklin and his parents came, henry too. He was in bad shape, he had a broken arm, and didn't wake up for awhile, The he woke up for a short time and said to Henry "Katahdin", then Franklin passed away. Now Henry wants to climb that mountain just by himself. 

Prediction: So far in the book Franklin has died, and Henry is determined to climb Mount Katahdin. I think he will but there is probably going to be a lot of "Trouble" in between just by the name of the book and what has happened to Franklin getting hit by the car and dying. I say this because I just don't think every things going to be peachy, already in the book someone has died and I don't think things are just going to work out later if Henry does climb the mountain. 

Native Americans marginalized.

Native Americans have been marginalized by society. In 'Would We Be Killed?', Captain Henry stated "Kill the Indian, save the man." And later in the text it says that the indians are savage. Almost meaning like they're wild, or like animals. So Henry wanted to save these Indians and make them more civil, like the white people. This shows that the Indians have been discriminated and been called savages.

The purpose of this essay is to show that Native Americans aren't really that different than us. They wear regular clothes, have celebrations, have grocery stores, have TV and do many other things that we do. Shanice Britton is saying that Native Americans are no different than anybody else, they do a lot of the same things. They also do many different things, in ceremonies they wear their traditional clothes, also they like to hunt a lot. They kill dears and make soups out of them, and have their own slang.

The Nazi Hunters #3 Blog

Summary: After waiting and waiting they finally got there target, Eichmann. After planning this for  years, they plan the perfect ambush. After Eichmann was planning to meet someone here they were an undercover agent. And more agents hide aside of the street. It's late at night and dark, Eichmann arrives. Everything seems peachy then the agents from behind grab him, put something over his head and take him into a car. Then they take him into a "safe house" not far and question him. They put blacked out goggles on him, and ask him questions. The agent says, "We have a few questions to ask..." Eichmann replies with "Yes, Sir." Everything is civil, Eichmann keeps his cool. Later, Eichmann is taken to court, then to jail. Jews that are out say terrible things about this man. He is then killed for what he has done.

Reflection: The Nazi Hunters was a good book, interesting and almost like a murder case or something similar. Agents are following this man, evidence, clues and other things. I think Eichmann should've been killed for what he has done. Because of him many jews and different people have died, and then he leaves and tries to stay low because he doesn't want to be caught. I think it was good what happened. The plan was complicated but it worked, tracking Eichmann down. Executing it , it all worked. They got the person and that was it. 

The Nazi Hunters #2 Blog

Summary: In the Book right now it's explaining how the spies are watching the guy they need to capture, Eichmann. After doing more research before about Eichmann's whereabouts they find a location to pinpoint him. A team of spies have been assembled, Rafi Eitan the chief of operations. Moshe Tabor, Yaakov Gat, Avraham Shalom, Shalom Dani, Peter Malkin, Yaakov Medad. Now Shalom, Malkin were hiding in the distance waiting for Eichmann who was suppose to come to some meeting. They see a bus approach and immediately Shalom says "That's him." They sit and wait, and see's what he does next. 

Reflection/Prediction: So far this book has been good and explained a lot about the people in this mission and what's it about. I like the format of this book how it has pictures and graphs and all these other things about this operation back at the time. It's interesting knowing they did all this.  I think sooner or later they will find this Eichmann person and do something to him, I'm not sure what but something. I'll just have to wait and see. 

Tolerance

Tolerance: the ability or willingness to allow the existence, occurrence, or practice of something, in particular the existence of opinions or behavior that one does not necessarily agree with. 

• What does tolerance mean to you?  Tolerance kind of means to be open minded, well at least for me. Something you don't necessarily agree with but you allow it. Or another way I see it is that you don't like something you just will have to get use to it, because if the thing you don't agree with sticks around might as well get use to it. 
• How can you be more tolerant of others? Maybe learn more about other people and you will tolerant them and start to accept them more. 

The Nazi Hunters #1 Blog

Summary: Adolf Eichmann a nazi being hunted down by a group of hunters. He was well known in the nazi party. And is being chased down by "hunters". He was known for helping construct the concentration camps, bringing in jews and killing them and many more worse things. After the war he left his wife and kid to hide from being "chased".  Some time has passed and a team came up with perfect ideas on how to get to Eichmann. There is limited information about Eichmann, but Simon Wiesenthal made the best out of it. He works in the OSS, Office of Strategic Services. Then Manus Diamant an undercover agent was suppose to go and find Eichmann's wife and investigate on his whereabouts.









Plot:  I like the plot of the story, so far its explaining Eichmann and what he does and the spies and there jobs. I think it's cool how the book and plot are starting off and unfold to how the spies or hunters will capture the "most notorious Nazi" And so far it's just the uprising and getting to the climax which will most likely being the spies getting to Eichmann.
